Character- The producers are the first to make the character a female that is strong and intelligent in the game.
Representation

1) Read this NME feature on the history of the Lara Croft character. Do you agree that she is now a 'feminist icon' rather than a 'trapezoid-boobed pinup'? What do these terms mean?

- She is empowered feminist icon because of holding a weapon in her hand.
- The clothing she is wearing is dirty, this symbolises a strong and intelligent woman
- Focus is on her attitude, intelligent and athleticism

2) Have later versions of the Tomb Raider/Lara Croft franchise featured a less-sexualised version of the character? Does this suggest society is changing in its attitude towards women?

That society is giving more respect to women.

Industries

1) Why do video game producers prefer the self-regulation of PEGI to government regulation? Why is video game regulation increasingly important in the 21st century?

Video game producers like the self-regulation because it makes it less violent and swearing in the game. Producers don't like the government regulation because it makes a lot of the parts in the game more violent and swearing.
